Flood Mitigation Workshop To Be Held At UE High School

The Broome County Department of Planning and Economic Development is sponsoring a free Flood Mitigation Workshop to be held Tuesday, January 24 from 6pm-9pm at Union-Endicott High School, located at 1100 E. Main Street in Endicott.

Attendees will get an overview of the September 2011 flood event, followed by a discussion of mitigation strategies for minimizing the impacts of flooding in our community; what works and what doesn't.

Speakers include experts from the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation, NOAA, Soil and Water Conservation, and local engineering firms.

This workshop will be the first in a series hosted by Broome County to provide information about flooding and flood mitigation issues.  Pre-registration is appreciated but not required.
